I’m planning to splurge on a new lens. To justify the purchase, I’ve resolved to work on my photography skills. I’m nowhere as good as J is, but I’ve got nothing to lose by trying. Over the next few months, I’m planning to take a at least one pic a week and try to explain what I was thinking when I visualised and took the shot.

I placed the peppers on a mirror. I placed a white board as the backdrop and one on top to block the view of the ceiling (which was not white). I placed a third one in front to block the view of the camera and myself.

SEEKING FEEDBACK

It’s been nearly a year since we’ve hosted CLICK, the photo event. On our part (and that of the judges), it involved a heck of a lot of work and planning. Was it worth it?

Would you like CLICK to be revived? If “yes”, is there any specific reason why you enjoyed it or found it useful?

What a wonderful picture! and it’s the 1st. time i have seen an eggplant colored bell pepper.

CLICK was a wonderful event, apart from being eye candy, it helped me and I guess others like me, who want to learn to take better pictures. Try and see how food can be placed better, lighting, angles. I do hope u will start it again.
Even the way u have explained the shot above, helps me with ideas, something like this would not have occurred to me :)

I am happy to hear that you are going to take a pic atleast once a week and then explain what you did then i can learn from you :-)
Must say you have lot of patience for taking that pic, preparing with all the mirrors etc….
I would love if click event comes back. I alays looked forward to see what each months theme was.
Not to mention it was always so nice to see what people did with each theme.

I am not sure if I know enough to comment on the pic but as for CLICK, please do revive it. I miss obsessing about my submission every month and then feeling inadequate at all the gorgeous submissions of others :D

Click was simply beautiful and it would be indeed very nice if it is revived because photography related to food helped to bring out the visual appeal and presentation .

Since CLICK was so much work in the format offered and yet others seem to be missing the inspiration/motivation and educational experience it offered perhaps it could be reinstated with changes?

Would people embrace it if you reintroduced CLICK as a thematic showcase rather than a contest? (and maybe I say that because I never had a photo good enough to do very well in this forum… ) : ) Is it still fun if there are not voted winners in the process?

I have to say I always enjoyed and was inspired by the images submitted (although the ones with huge copyright stuff over their images was slightly annoying visually).

Love the idea of shooting on a mirror and how you did it.

I loved Click – even where I didn’t participate I always browsed the albums. I like the sort of assignment/treasure hunt aspect with a theme and seeing how people interpret it. And of course learning from that and finding new blogs/photogs I didn’t know about before.

CLICK was fun while learning. It allowed me to think about the various angles and frames. And I could drool over the pictures.
    Please do revive it!

I would want Click to be started for the exact same reasons most people have mentioned here earlier. Its amazing the photos that get submitted here. However, I do understand it would be a lot of work for you as well as the other judges.. but I do hope you start in some way which is kind of easier for you too. And on my part, if you do decide to restart it, I confess I had been too scared/shy to comment for the earlier events, but I promise promise promise, I shall comment and vote without fail after I am done drooling at all the pics.

I loved seeing the pics – but truly I think it involved a huge amount of work on your part and the judges….instead, I would be happy even if you had these kind of visuals posted every fortnight with some details like the kind you have included. and then maybe once every three months, you could have a theme based event where everyone could participate.

  17. I simply loved CLICK event as it helped a lot of creative juices to flow in my mind. Its interesting to see how others see and visualise a word or a theme….In your CLICK event titled “Hierloom’ I remember all the wonderful entries that came on..That was by far my THE most favourite theme!!!
