Kleptomania (from Greek: kleptein, “to steal”, and “mania”) is an irresistible urge to steal items of trivial value … such as pens, paper clips, paper and tape …
This disorder usually manifests during puberty and, in some cases, may last throughout the person’s life. (Wiki)
Her favourites are paper clips, bottle caps, pens and rubber bands.
This morning, she stole a whole bunch of them.
She was so busy hiding her contraband under rugs, furniture, appliances and between cushions, she didn’t see me slip out to the backyard. That’s a good thing, ‘cos else she would have darted outdoors and stayed there until it got too hot for her comfort.
I was taking pics of these daylilies, when I sensed a pair of eyes watching me.
On my neighbour’s tree was this huge bird of prey – as big as an eagle, but with a light belly.
And another one. They’re Ferruginous Hawks – huge birds with a wingspan of 4 to 5 feet that like to nibble on little mammals.
Together they come towards my yard. The furry little kitty that lives here would make a romantic breakfast for two.
Fortunately, klepto kitty is indoors …
scratching her chin with a stolen toothbrush.
Finders are keepers.
I prefer a klepto kitty to a klepto hawk.

I lovved this post
Reminds me of the time when my toddler was younger..she used to squirrel things away. So there were pens/spoons/mobile phones behind the sofa, TV remotes in the refrigerator…I once found a ladle and some spoons in my gym bag!

Hilarious! I have a klepto-doggie, but she prefers to chew up the things she steals rather than horde them.
