… towards my subjects.
Colonialism: control by one power over a dependent area or people. A certain set of unequal relationships, between metropole and colony and between colonists and the indigenous population.
The East India Company is back.
They came to India in the late 1600s as friendly traders dealing in cotton, silk, indigo, spices and tea. They slowly started assuming administrative functions and exercising military power. By 1757, after the Battle of Plassey, they ruled the Indian subcontinent. In 1858, the British Empire took over until 1947. After 135 years of dormancy, the East India Company was relaunched last week by its new Indian owner.
Colonialism may also refer to the sovereignty of one species over another.

Thou shalt proffer thy right arm while at the computer. If typing or scrolling is necessary, thou shalt use the left one. Thou art right-handed? Too freaking bad.

Upon my command, thou shalt move thy chair closer, being careful not to move thy arm under any circumstances.

Stop whining about my claws scratching thy thigh. Ever heard of jeans? Sucks to be a crybaby hooman.

Every few minutes, thou shalt cuddle me and stroke my head.

Thou shalt also scratch my chin …

… and bring me a salmon dinner. ‘Cos it’s my first Birffday.
By royal decree,
Empress Delta.

BIjou was going to wish Delta many happy returns but got distracted talking smack to birds on the feeder by the window. So many birds to watch, so little time between naps….
I was wondering how Delta was doing. It looks like she’s been busy setting up clear rules of conduct for the household. Happy Birthday to HRM!
So so cute, enjoyed reading this witty post.
