How chic is your coffee mug?

December 11, 2009 |

Very few people possess true artistic ability. It is therefore both unseemly and unproductive to irritate the situation by making an effort. If you have a burning, restless urge to write or paint, simply eat something sweet and the feeling will pass. ~ Fran Lebovitz.

I hate talented people. They make me look bad. So I decided to do something about it. Yeah, and it’s a big freaking deal.

As a kid, I really resented those classmates of mine who could draw, paint, sing, dance, sew or sculpt. I consoled myself by recognising that what really matters is the goodness of one’s heart. This week, I went a step further. On behalf of talentless folk around the world, I took my Photoshop tool brush and went mavericky on their smug, creative asses.

I designed a couple of logos and then got them transferred onto coffee mugs at the local T-shirts plus.

This one’s for Jack - the guy who cuts Jai’s hair.

Remember the sparring elk at Grand Teton? I used them to make this for our taekwondo buddies.

Now, not only do I have the most outrageously stupendously dazzlingly wonderful heart, I am also officially an “artist”. Eat that, Pablo.

(Feel free to download these pics and make your own coffee mugs.)

I had one given by my sisters during a phase when I was ALWAYS hungry and was putting on weight- ( no, not pregnancy at 13 :D) And my mom didn’t say a thing! So.

    It said something like this!

    Mary had a little lamb,
    The lamb had some cheese
    And some peas…..

And that is why Mary’s lamb was so fat, but cute!

I just hated it when they gave me this. But it was an eyeopener :D
