Bitten by the Woodworking Bug.
December 17, 2009 |
We had three boxes of leftover wood (bamboo) flooring slats. Jai’s been testing his carpentry skills by using them in assorted projects.

We finally used up the last one this past weekend. Jai built this 9-foot long shelf in our dining room. It holds our cookbooks and teapots.
Before that, he built

this daybed

and

this fireplace mantel.
What do you do when your knife stand is full and you get a new nakiri bocho?

You build an extra slot at the back.

Researchers have shown in clinical experiments that human pheromones trigger a subconscious sexual response in the opposite sex. One study had researchers spray pheromones on one of the three chairs in a dentist’s waiting room. More women sat in the chair sprayed with the pheromone than in the others.
I love the aroma of fresh sawdust on a man. They should try that next time.
Talk to you next week. Have a great weekend.

Both of us are fascinated with wood and woodwork and love working with it; however I doubt we could do anything as marvellous as these. I love the shelf and the teapots on it! and the fireplace mantle. Everything is just wonderous. Good work Jai! I love the smell of sawdust whether on men or not

My dad was a fab D-I-Y carpenter and an engineer by profession - spoilt me for any husband I could have had’ and my dear procrastinator has no shot at all at taking that place!
