Burgundy Iris
November 4, 2009 | 8 Comments

Flowers construct the most charming geometries: circles like the sun,
ovals, cones, curlicues and a variety of triangular eccentricities, which
when viewed with the eye of a magnifying glass seem a Lilliputian
frieze of psychedelic silhouettes.
- Duane Michals, The Vanishing Act

Lovely pictures bee , Miss you being active on the blogosphere. Hope all is well and I love the glassware in the kefir pictures as well ! Lovely !
Gorgeous! Loved to see the sunny bright garden clicks, unlike the current dark and gloomy autumnal weather here.
I came to know about kefir leaves and now culture through ur blog!
The contrast of burgundy and green is excellent!
I’ve never seen burgundy iris before – beautiful
wow, lovely lovely irises basking in the sun. I love all the pics!
I really admire the contrast in your bed between the smooth river stones and the sinuous leaves and stalks of those richly deep purple blooms.
Irises have always been a nostalgic favorite of mine. Some blue ones were my Mother’s treasures, and those in combination with yellow sunflowers speak to me in a way few other arrangements ever will.
My irises here are currently shamefully neglected, they need raising up for optimal blooms and these gorgeous shots of yours are hopefully just the incentive needed to get me out on my knees to rework the beds.
beautiful!
visual treats!
