Figs … without Bri.
October 27, 2009 | 23 Comments
Two things in my garden constantly remind me of Briana who left us this day a year ago.

This fig tree

Figs are my favourite fruit. Bri adored them.
and

this crimson bloom.
It’s from a bulb Bri’s family distributed at her memorial service.

Bri lives in my garden and in my heart.

LADYFINGER

Unlike you i had never met her, but i too oftenly think about her.
yes, we can name her the queen of figs. Whenever I see or read about figs, I never fail to remember her.
Oh, that bloom is beautiful- what a fitting tribute to Bri
I remembered this date and knew you would post something to remember her. I think of Bri often…
Very thoughtful tribute…I love figs.
You really gave a life to Bri in your beautiful garden!
Those luscious figs & gorgeous scarlet blooms* ~ what lovely reminders of sweet Bri. Happy they’re thriving in your garden…and that Bri’s alive in your heart & memories. Thanks for being such a dear friend.
*Will find out the name of the bulb, if you’d like.
I have known Bri for a very short time through your space. She remains. Her broad smile is something that keeps coming back.
Not really, no. The “without” that is. She does live on through Marc, her family, her friends and their memories.
Hugs to you.
Loving tribute from a loving friend. Beautiful bloom.
Dear Bri- she will live on in all our hearts.
A touching tribute to the woman who brought such joy to so many in her all too short life span. Bri’s physical life may have ended but clearly her relationship with all who loved her lives on. Peace, Bee/Jai….
Lovely tribute ……
Bee, I think about Bri too, whenever I see or hear about Figs. Lovely tribute!
Lovely tribute..I agree with Manisha..
A very thoughtful tribute. I did not know Bri, but fished through your previous posts to learn more. She has been a great warrior. In my cancer support blog, I see lot of people fighting the big C and some losing the battle too. Hopefully,in spite of losing some battles, we will ultimately win the war.Peace. My wishes and prayers for Bri’s friends & family.
May she continue to rest in peace.
Paz
Its said that some people somehow secretly edge their way in to our hearts. I can feel how much space she has taken in your heart Bee. Lovely tribute from a wonderful friend to an equally wonderful soul.
Those are beautiful words; I am certain she is keeping an eye on the figs as they ripen!
