June 27, 2009 |

“Blue flower, red thorns! Blue flower, red thorns! Blue flower, red thorns! Oh, this would be so much easier if I wasn’t color-blind!” ~ Shrek

BI-COLOUR: two-colour, having two colours.

Orange and Black (Papaya)
“Why do two colors, put one next to the other, sing? Can one really explain this? No. Just as one can never learn how to paint.” ~ Pablo Picasso

Green and White (Cauliflower Leaf)

Red and Green (Lollo Rosso Lettuce)

Yellow and Green (Pineapple)
“The only color I don’t have is navy brown.” ~ Yogi Berra

Orange and Blue (Apricots)
While the pic may have several colours, TWO must be DOMINANT.

Green and White (Haak)

Purple and White (Purple Potatoes)
“It is not the form that dictates the color, but the color that brings out the form.” ~ Hans Hofmann

FIVE GUARANTEED WAYS TO PISS THEM OFF
1. Make them wonder how your picture is related to the theme.
2. Stitch two or three pics together to make a diptych or triptych.
3. Put big borders, text or a dateline. Don’t. Please don’t.
4. Have them use their imagination to excavate your picture from beneath a giant copyright notice.
5. Add anything that distracts from the image.

Great shots and theme!
Cheers,

Beautiful photographs!
I was wondering how you guy’s come up with themes……
I really want to get back to taking part in CLICK. I am always bowled over by the creativity that goes into coming up with the themes.
OMG! That papaya shot-you just killed me..I so love textural shots..amazing! and the lettuce leaf looks like an abstract painting..
Your photos are always so inspiring!
Looking forward for this coming event-very interesting theme!
Ooh lovely, I hope I can pick out something I really like for this one
Very unusual theme and great pictures to highlight them.
I’m still a month behind as I just took some pictures today which should do for June’s theme.
I was late by a day last month and hopefully I’ll make the deadline this month (June, I mean)!
Great theme and beautiful images!
Interesting!
grt! theme….I am in for it …..
Such a fun theme! Need to dig into my archives..
The picture with apricots is a favorite of mine. Love, love, love the colors.
More challenging then it seems at first glance. Took a look at my ‘limited palette’ images….most of them are tri-color! Darn.
So had your challenge in mind when I went to the Farmers Market on Saturday morning. Picked up some items to play with. Now to ponder recipes. And presentation.
Thanks for the creative push…
