CLICK: February 2009. (Cheese/Tofu)

CLICK is a monthly food photography event. It is a theme-based contest. You do not need a blog to participate. Each month, entries will be invited based on a culinary ingredient or concept. More about it HERE.

Ha!!! No surprise there.
CHEESE [cheeeeez] n.
a blob of dairy, white or yellow, sometimes with holes or veins, more expensive if mouldy, often stinky, usually ugly and notoriously hard to photograph.

For the vegans, there’s its uglier cousin tofu.

CLICK Cheese/Tofu. Highlight it in any setting, and send it to us before February 28, 2009.
Whatever you portray must be EDIBLE or have a CLEAR CULINARY ASSOCIATION.
It must highlight cheese, paneer or tofu.
A dish with one tablespoon of invisible silken tofu does not qualify.
DEADLINE: the 28th of February, 2009, midnight, Eastern Standard Time.

FIVE GUARANTEED WAYS TO PISS THEM OFF
1. Make them wonder how your picture is related to the theme.
2. Stitch two or three pics together to make a diptych or triptych.
3. Have them use their imagination to excavate your picture from beneath a copyright notice smack in the centre.
4. Distract them with datelines and text in huge font that says “STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE WITH MASCARPONE AND SEVENTEEN OTHER THINGS”.
5. Distract them some more with big, colourful borders that compete with the pic for attention.

The longer I blog (it’s been 6 months), the more I’m focusing on the photography and loving it! I’ve been seeing some of the contestant’s photos on their individual sites and just became aware of Click! during the red series. I hope to participate somewhere down the road. Great event!

Most of my Republic day went like this … at least 100 photos, experiments with every option on my camera, several wasted red chillies, a missed lunch, and frustration! That was my attempt at Click Red!! But can’t wait to try Click cheese. Yipes.. still dont have my Red yet!!!

Great choice…although i never participate but i do admire all the entries…its wonderful event…i recently tried some of your recipes…like cranberry relish,savoury scones,dal with red chard…and all of them have turned out very good…thought of saying thankyou to u guys….today going to make sundried tomatoe bread…thanks for wonderful and such hearty recipes..
