I didn't have my camera so I'm glad to have your picture to look at. While the fence seems simple, the ropes are tied in a very unique way. A lot of ingenuity and art goes into the Japanese kind of "simple". Just before I left Japan about 8 months ago, I took a walk in the local castle’s grounds, and was studying a fence like that in your fourth picture down, with the intention of trying a simlar fence here in Canada someday.
