SUPERCLICK 2008: The winners … (Part I)

It began in October 2007 as a forum to showcase the talent of food photographers - mainly amateurs - in the blogosphere. We are commemorating CLICK’s first anniversary with a special edition this month.

Showcased entries: 108
The “showcased” entries refer to those that feature each month in the roundups - winners, judges, and hosts. While the judges’ and hosts’ entries are usually not part of the competition, we thought this would be a good opportunity to let them join the fray.
Each of the 108 entries is a star in its own right. You can see all of them at the links at the bottom of the post. This month, we set out to pick the cream of the crop from this dazzling lineup. It was, by no means, an easy task.
Thank you, Cenk, Lara, Sabra, Nika and Nina, for your impeccable taste, fairness and efficiency.
** For the record Sabra, who faced the prospect of scoring her own entry (she was a winner last month), did not do so. We used the average of the other four judges’ scores to compute her final score.
In this special edition of CLICK, we would like to showcase each of the TOP TEN entries in each category in a separate post. We have four - Spectra, Concept, Delish and Host’s Pick.
This post highlights the winners of SPECTRA - i.e. the best overall captures of the last 12 editions.
How the scoring works:
Composition: Aesthetics and production values (20 points)
Craft: Technical merit (20 points)
Communication: Overall Impact (10 points)
In each category, each judge’s scores for all the contestants are normalised to an average minimum and maximum range. The contestant with the highest average normalised score is the winner.
