Todays Sophisticated Insult for those who attack your aesthetic sensibilities.
It bothers some people, apparently, that the inside of our home doesn’t look like a doctor’s office. We love colour.
I regret not saying this to the person who mocked the “bright” paint colours on my walls:

I have used that in the opposite way. When people see the presents my husband bought for me and say how good they are and he has a good taste, I say “yeah he has good taste, he picked me too.”
That is an ultimate comeback..

My husband once said that his stars are so lucky. he has good luck in everything…casinos, parking spots…everything, just name it. And then he said my luck is never good anytime (he may have said as a joke!!)

My greens on the other hand are all monochromatic and very soothing to the eye. No that I picked the color or the shades. But green is old news, baby! Have you seen my orange wall should be the question!
I am sorry but I am not enjoying your sophisticated insult series that much. There’s snarky, and there’s bitchy….and yours is bordering on the latter. I am not trying to offend you but since I come to your blog often to enjoy your posts I thought I’d share my opinion that not all readers like this series. Of course, that doesn’t mean you have to do anything about it. After all, this is your space.

What do I say, when random strangers ask what my daughter’s name is…and go ‘Oh, Isn’t that very ooooooooold? There are so many nice stylish names..why did you pick this one?’
It hurts when people do this, because we absolutely love her name and it means five different but beautiful meanings in five languages… but what can I say? I wish I can say something that would shut them up, but what makes people think their taste is the only thing best and everything else is dumb?

I enjoy reading most of your posts and insults. I often find that you have put into words what I have kept in my mind! This is especially true about the bright colors!
You seem like the person who does not get influenced by what ppl think of you – so what do you care and why think of even a comeback?
