Pugsley: Yes.

Girl Scout: Well, I’ll tell you what. I’ll buy a cup if you buy a box of my delicious Girl Scout cookies. Do we have a deal?

my choice is the third one

  4. Elizabeth on August 7, 2008 9:35 pm

I like the composition of the second one, but somehow the first one is my favorite–maybe because it looks like the straw is bending down to check out the top of the lemon. Kind of lifelike.

  5. Cham on August 7, 2008 9:36 pm

  10. Shreya on August 7, 2008 10:55 pm

3rd, and I will give my reason. The light effect is perfect. If I were to sketch it, I’d love the lighting that way.:-)

  11. Shreya on August 7, 2008 10:57 pm

and I can see the shadow of the straw on the top lemon slice, as well as the line on the straw perfectly..sharp image..

  12. Meeta on August 7, 2008 11:02 pm

you guys have a preety cool sense of humor - I’d go for the second one! LOL!

  13. noobcook on August 7, 2008 11:39 pm

second one … nice shot! :)

  14. PG on August 8, 2008 12:29 am

the first one! Reason: The focus is on the lemon. I like it that way, and the image is very sharp. Good shots and a cool idea. :)

  15. sunita on August 8, 2008 1:41 am

I love the third…and I agree with Shreya…was thinking on the same lines too, as soon as I saw that one…the light and shade is perfect.

  16. Srivalli on August 8, 2008 1:49 am

second one looks great jai…but then all are lovely!!..how did you do it?

  17. Jayashree on August 8, 2008 2:13 am

  18. Altoid on August 8, 2008 2:59 am

    Second one :)

  19. anubhuti on August 8, 2008 3:01 am

I like second one the best because of the green colour present there.

PS: I have been following your site for months. All your posts, recipes and pictures are really amazing! keep going, keep growing!

  20. Anita on August 8, 2008 3:57 am

    The first one!

  21. Pragyan on August 8, 2008 5:05 am

tie between second and third one :)

  22. Mamatha on August 8, 2008 5:21 am

    The second one.

  23. TexasDeb on August 8, 2008 5:27 am

Third one- the angle of the bark the lemon is resting on against the angle of the moss in the background in combination with the way the lemon is lit makes it the most visually compelling to me. Plus that little yellow line on the straw shows up best in the third shot. The whole thing is just slightly off kilter which makes it really whimsical. Good work!

  24. Aparna on August 8, 2008 5:33 am

Third one: It highlights the lemon in the best way. Lighting and the jazz. A very close second, is the
Second one: for its composition. The woody bed for yellow lemon, and emphasis on the background is nice.

  25. andreea on August 8, 2008 5:57 am

    have to agree :)
    third one

  26. Pooh on August 8, 2008 6:50 am

    #1.
    - The lighting is just right and highlights the slashed lemons beautifully.
    - The background fabric is muted appropriately but helps to make the lemon ‘pop’ into focus.

    That’s just my two cents.

  27. Rashmi on August 8, 2008 7:25 am

    Real Girl scout cookies:D
such a wonderful, quirky click, love your SoH:)
    my vote’s for the second.

  28. Nidhi on August 8, 2008 7:57 am

I vote for the second too and I do not have a reason. Don’t make me think too hard, thinking is not easy anyway;)

  29. Priya on August 8, 2008 8:01 am

1st or 3rd…unable to choose only one presently, may be I’ll come back in a while and test my brain again :)

  30. Nidhi on August 8, 2008 8:02 am

I am reading everybody’s comments and their comment is telling me about the person writing it. Their choice reflects their personality in a way and whether they have had a methodical approach to photography. So, my focus has moved away from the photographs. You hate me, don’t you? just a while back, I was tongue tied………and now it seems to be free:))

  31. Chennette on August 8, 2008 8:03 am

I love that movie. And especially Wednesday.

I like the first, because the focus on the lemon is best, and you get to appreciate the arrangement of the sections etc. As nice as the composition is on the other 2, I think the background things distract me a bit from the lemon. Although…the lighting in #3 is pretty nice…

  32. Pooja on August 8, 2008 8:19 am

    # 3 - I think it looks more eye catching then others.
Although all 3 r wonderul - as the idea to click lemon with slicing in this fashion itself is amazing.

  33. Sonal on August 8, 2008 8:21 am

I like the third the most…how do you guys even think of these ideas for photos??? Awesome!!

  34. shilpa on August 8, 2008 8:23 am

    I love #3 :)

  35. sangeeth on August 8, 2008 8:25 am

second one! god u r talented!

  36. Mona on August 8, 2008 8:45 am

    The second one!

  37. Pelicano on August 8, 2008 9:05 am

The second one has a great line, but all three make my mouth pucker.

  38. Sri Gavar Gogji on August 8, 2008 9:08 am

Forget the lemons, where’re the cookies?

you mean you mailed us some? we’ll let you know when we get them. :D

  39. Manisha on August 8, 2008 10:07 am

You’re into Girl Scouts now, Gog?

Forget the lemons and the cookies, where’s the recipe? Add vodka does not qualify.

  40. Priya on August 8, 2008 10:16 am

Wall-Eeeeee……Eeevaaaa :D (I hope you/ve seen the movie or its trailer)The lemon and its top ridge remind me of Wall-E and the scuttling cockroach in the movie :)) I choose #1 :)

huh?? what movie?? is this a new one?

  41. Anuradha on August 8, 2008 10:43 am

Regular reader: I love the third one. Dunno about the technicalities, but it’s this one because it’s all about the lemon and it’s just sitting so grandly with an almost royal composure. Also, the glow is just fabulous.
If they had seen this first, it would have been “as cool as a lemon” and not “cucumber.”
I’m not so garrulous usually. It’s the pic!

  42. Bharti on August 8, 2008 12:41 pm

    first one. very cool.

  43. VFE on August 8, 2008 12:59 pm

The first one. Excellent shot. Focus is on the lemon and great positioning.

  53. DK on August 12, 2008 6:14 pm

    This is simply brilliant.

The 2nd one first caught my eyes..but then after seeing the 3rd one, something about the shining exterior ( lighting) drew me more..its v v vhard to choose but if you really force me i think I will go for 3rd :)

  54. Lilandra on August 13, 2008 9:22 pm

    i like the first…i think
