The top ten list does not include the three entries we have had to disqualify because of voting irregularities. The voting process has not been followed in the spirit of the event, as we intended it. For that reason, this will be the last installment of the CLICK Readers’ Choice award. We apologise to all our readers who have been so supportive and encouraging since the inception of CLICK.

It will be replaced next month by a ‘HOST’S PICK‘ award featuring one of our favourite pictures from the roundup that did not win any of the other awards.

Number of voters: 155

Total votes cast: 347

CONGRATULATIONS !!!

Manisha, Lynne, Arfi and Priya

We thank all of you who participated with your entries, your votes, and your support. A HUGE debt of gratitude goes to our judges.

How the scoring works

In each category, each contestant’s scores from all the judges are added up. The highest average score wins.

CONCEPT (most original) and DELISH (most drool-worthy) are independent of the Spectra (best capture) scores.

**CONCEPT (10 points) How original is the concept and how does it highlight the theme?

**DELISH (10 points): How drool-worthy is the picture?

**SPECTRA (50 points) How well is the idea executed?

The judging for SPECTRA is based on
Composition: Aesthetics and production values (20 points)
Craft: Technical merit (20 points)
Communication: Overall Impact (10 points)

In each category, each judge’s scores for all the contestants are normalised to an average minimum and maximum range. The contestant with the highest average normalised score is the winner.

**READERS’ CHOICE – The most popular entry in the readers’ poll.

See you next month with a new installment of CLICK.

Wow, shame about the voting weirdness. In any case, this was a great turnout, and such beautiful entries! Congratulations to the winners! (I think I’ll be lookin’ for some iced tea now…)

  5. Lucy says:

It was an honour to have been involved.

Onward and upward – citrus, here we come!

  6. Anita says:

I am sad to see the reader’s choice go…Congratulations to all the winners! Let’s keep the spirit!

  7. Manisha says:

[does a virtual cartwheel] yay! yay! yay!

Congrats to Lynne, Arfi and Priya! And me!

I feel really bad that Reader’s Choice was misused. I know I felt more vested in the event because of it. I guess those who did what they did know who they are. After having judged a couple two three four (?) times, I can tell you it is a lot of hard work looking at each entry and scoring it, using the given criteria. Managing the event has to be even more work, but you guys take efficiency to the next level with the way you do things. A big Boo to those who took all of this for granted. [insert appropriate dialog from a Bollywood movie here to show how I really feel. Dammit.]

But I am looking forward to Host Pick’s from this month!

Now for some hot tea cos it finally rained and it’s cooled off a little. Even 70s are preferable to the high 90s and 100s we were having.

I raise my teacup to you all! Thank you! I feel honored!

  8. sunita says:

  31. DK says:

Congrats to all the winners. Its sad to know about the reader choice awards. U wont believe it – recently I came across this poll and I noticed some v v v v v obvious irregularities and tampering ( dont want to mention names of course!). Its disgusting what some ppl can stoop to get their way! I jus saw it few days back and now here, u have the same qualms..

Good one. I am hoping to join the next theme ( oh boy! have I been away from this event!!)

so sad to know abt the reader’s choice…guys it was really the best part..I know its very very hard work for you guys, this award gives me a feeling of helping a wee bit for you guys, though its really not much when it gets screwed up like this!..

  35. Aysegul says:

These are beautiful shots! If I had known I would have participated as well! Congrads to the winners as well!

  36. arfi says:

Thank you, judges. Thanks Bee and Jai. I am really honoured. After having icy holiday, I feel like being warmed up with this great news. Thanks heaps!

  37. Lilandra says:

Congrats to the winners and you guys are doing a great job. I know you’re working hard on this.

    But.

If there were irregularities in Reader’s Choice, why don’t you reinstitute registration to vote. All contestants and previous contestants (and established commenters) should have a login to be able to see, say a private post to vote. Is it hard to implement?

Also, I liked the idea of readers selecting/voting from the whole pool since sometimes, the 25 cut left out all or most of my actual faves
