CLICK: July 2008. (Coffee and Tea)
June 30, 2008 |

CLICK is a monthly food photography event. It is a theme-based contest. You do not need a blog to participate. Each month, entries will be invited based on a culinary ingredient or concept. More about it HERE.
Previous editions of CLICK HERE.

Specialty coffees are very popular these days, attracting millions of consumers, every single one of whom is standing in line ahead of me whenever I go to the coffee place at the airport to grab a quick cup on my way to catch a plane. These consumers are always ordering mutant beverages with names like “mocha-almond-honey-vinaigrette lattespressacino,” beverages that must be made one at a time via a lengthy and complex process involving approximately one coffee bean, three quarts of dairy products and what appears to be a small nuclear reactor.
Meanwhile, back in the line, there is growing impatience among those of us who just want a plain old cup of coffee so that our brains will start working and we can remember what our full names are and why we are catching an airplane. We want to strike the lattespressacino people with our carry-on baggage and scream “GET OUT OF OUR WAY, YOU TREND GEEKS, AND LET US HAVE OUR COFFEE!” But of course we couldn’t do anything that active until we’ve had our coffee.
It is inhumane, in my opinion, to force people who have a genuine medical need for coffee to wait in line behind people who apparently view it as some kind of recreational activity. I bet this kind of thing does not happen to heroin addicts. I bet that when serious heroin addicts go to purchase their heroin, they do not tolerate waiting in line while some dilettante in front of them orders a hazelnut smack-a-cino with cinnamon sprinkles. ~ Dave Barry

CLICK Coffee/Tea, or items related to these beverages. Highlight them in any setting, and send it to us before July 30, 2008.

The picture should CLEARLY and OBVIOUSLY relate to coffee and/or tea.
A portrait of the dog who peed in your coffee mug does not qualify.

The rules for participation and ENTRY FORM are HERE.
All entries to this particular theme should be linked to THIS post.
DEADLINE: the 30th of July, midnight, Eastern Standard Time.
The entries will be posted as they arrive. They can be accessed HERE or through the ‘CLICK‘ icon on the right sidebar.
Along with the link to the event announcement, please feel free to use one of these logos.

(White Background)

Enjay of Purplesque
Ira of Simply Passion for Food (Winner of CLICK: May)
Jenn of Straight From the Farm
Lucy of Nourish Me
Meeta of What’s for Lunch, Honey?
** A new theme will be announced around the first of each month.
** A panel of judges will score the entries. Winners will be announced in four categories:

(The Best Capture - Three winners)

(The Most Original)

(The Most Drool-worthy)

(The Most Popular)
After the deadline for the event, judging will take place. Around the 5th, the top 25 entries in SPECTRA will be announced. Readers get to choose three of their favourites. The votes will be aggregated to announce the winners.
Results in all categories will be announced on or before the 10th of the month.
Winners in all the categories get badges to display on their sites. The first place winner of CLICK Spectra will be invited to judge in the next event.
If you are a blogger, your picture must be part of a post that links to the CLICK event.
If you send us an entry with more than one picture, or multiple entries, we will use the first one.
If you have multiple pictures in your post: Please specify which one your entry is. If you place it at the top of your post, even better. It makes it a LOT easier for the judges.
Do you have a picture already posted on your blog?: We will accept already posted pictures if you create a NEW POST. Put the picture you wish to submit, along with a link to where it appeared before, and a link to the CLICK event.
RECOMMENDED, but not mandatory:
**A couple of lines discussing the picture - the location, the circumstances, why you like it, etc.
**The type of lenses used (if using an SLR) or lenses attached to a non-SLR, if any.

(By taking part in this event, participants accept that the pictures submitted to Jugalbandi.info have been taken by them, and do not infringe upon the proprietary rights, including but not limited to the copyright, of any third party. If challenged, the responsibility to prove the ownership of the picture, as well as all attendant liabilities rest with the participant.
Pictures that have pornographic content or are not family friendly will not be accepted.)
Thank you for your support and participation.

Hahaha..picture of dog peed in coffee mug :))))
Cool theme! Enjoy!
I never ever take a great photo anyway, so I will enjoy looking at them from now on!
Well..AJ, the old man, losing his bladder control these days and peed on the carpet this morning. Bummer! That doesn’t qualify, did you say? ;p
Great theme bee…
Wow, flavorful theme
I can smell coffee already.
Fabulous, bee and jai. I’ve just the thing in mind, too!
this is a lovely theme, though liquids are harder for me to capture. i was just thinking, now that u have more and more participants from all over, wouldn’t it help amateurs like me if you also had a category for non-professionals who bend and stretch and still cannot come up with a pic that’s half as good as those professional photographers out there?
Maybe a category that says ‘best amateur shot!
99% of click participants are amateurs - i.e. they don’t do photography for a living.

Ooh boy! This is challenging! I’m rubbish at beverages, haha! I hope I can participate
I totally agree with Nags! that’s a great idea for ppl like us:) liquids are indeed hard to shoot, especially coffee and tea, as I never imagine them to be “highly presentable”:)
Ah! I’ll look out for a picture of civet coffee
I cannot not participate in this one.
nice theme,..
Hey nice theme..
My two favorite things in the world! Great theme!
nice theme Bee. Let me see what I can click :D.
No matter how many times I will disqualify from top 25 even , I will keep clicking still ha ha ha….
ewwww dog peeing in your mug…ewwwww…..
heeeeee
Are there still folks who do not comprehend the rules despite the fact that they’re so very clearly stated here month after month?
:-)
“A portrait of the dog who peed in your coffee mug does not qualify.”-
you underestimate how “creative” people can get.
Tea and coffee…yess!! [ You go, Dave Barry. My pet peeve- drinks called ‘chai tea’, ‘chai frappuccino’, ‘chai’ anything. Chai is a freestanding word, you morons!]
I had actually been working on a recipe involving coffee. And a fish. It’ll be good stuff
Ah photographing coffee - I just don’t think it can get any better. Except I am afraid that I will drink all the coffee and have an empty mug which I fear will not qualify.
Oooo, a tasty challenge! I hope to have my new camera in time for this one!
I don’t drink any of them…but let’s see what I can come up with :-)
Yikes, I am the person in the coffee shop in front of you ordering that frou-frou drink that has so much other stuff in there it’s amazing it’s still called coffee
I just discovered your website and I am really excited about participating and putting my camera to the test.
xoxo

[…] Ooo-la-la! This is going to be a very pretty post. The color of this Spiced Green Tea and White Chocolate Ice Cream was shockingly vivid and kicked in my photographer’s spidey sense big time. I could fill a book with all the colorful photos I took. But, we’re not here just to look at pictures (okay, I admit, sometimes that’s all I do on the blogs I visit). No sir, we’re here to talk about making green tea (or matcha) ice cream. I entered this photo in Click! July 2008 […]
