**EDITED TO ADD: We have changed the settings. You do not need to be registered to vote for CLICK Reader’s Choice. Those who have registered already can continue voting as before, but those who haven’t can vote as guests. Registration is recommended, and it needs to be done just once to vote in all CLICK events.

Dear readers,

We would like to apologise to those of you who tried to vote for the CLICK Readers’ Choice award, and couldn’t.

We are not sure why the polling mechanism is so erratic. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We request you to send us an e-mail @ clickcapture At gmail DOT com with your three choices. We will make sure your votes are added to the tally.

It is puzzling for us to note that while we have thousands of hits during the days when voting is on, we get less than 100 readers who vote. The last time, we had less than sixty.

We have 77 contestants and six entries from judges. Eighty-three people have spent a lot of time and effort posting an entry.

Dear readers, we would like to know: Is it too much to expect many of you who follow the CLICK event to click on three checkboxes once a month?

Is it too much to expect atleast as many voters as participants?

As for our contestants and judges, some of you seem to think that it is not ‘right’ for you to vote for the Reader’s Choice Award. Quite to the contrary. Please cast your votes for your favourite entries. There is no discredit in voting for your own entry if you believe it is among the best.

We spend a lot of time and energy organising this event. The Reader’s Choice Award was meant to encourage readers to have an input.

We have some readers who participate through their entries, others who make it a point to vote, and a third group who do both. To all of you we are grateful – CLICK owes its success to you. Thank you for endorsing our efforts through your participation.

We would like to continue with the Readers’ Choice Award only if YOU, our readers, are interested in having one.

Should we continue the CLICK Readers’ Choice Award or scrap it altogether?

Please answer in the comments section with a simple ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

If your answer is ‘Yes‘, show us that you mean it by casting your votes.

This award makes sense only if we have 100 or so voters. If we don’t have enough votes, and they are spread over a wide number of entries, it threatens to turn into a farce.

If the answer is ‘No‘, please state it in the comments section. If the majority answer is ‘No’, we will scrap the award from the next installment of CLICK.

Yes, continue with the readers choice. I don’t think my vote went in as the page kept loading.

Yes ! I haven’t been able to participate in any of them since I broke my cam, but I do try and vote every single time. The check box thing will surely make things a whole lot easier as so many others have stated. But we’ll not hold that against you guys :D

I like to participate… and though hate registering still did. It worked for the first contest, and then didnt for the 2nd, after that didnt try again. Now that its easier, just finished voting. Its a good contest and readers choice makes it different. Thks

Yes, for sure. I registered and voted. But how do I know that my vote went through?

nora, your vote did go through. the next time, before voting, see the ‘total voters’ at the bottom. after you vote, the number should go up by one. that means it went through. – b.
