FUNDRAISER for BRIANA RAFFLE PRIZES WHO'S BIDDING FOR WHAT

Race for a Cure

October 7, 2007 |

Jai completed a marathon this morning. It was his second. (The first was six years ago).

He completed the 26 miles 385 yards (42.2 km) in 4 hours and 13 minutes.

He ran this race to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and to raise money for the cure of blood cancers (leukemia, lymphoma and mylenoma).

Jai (left), 30 yards from the finish line.

On the right is the Team In Training coach Mike who joined him towards the end to egg him on.

Jai participated in the race in memory of his dear friend Hari, who lost his battle against leukemia last year, and in honour of those fighting against the disease.

He had originally planned to run in May, but had to postpone it because of injuries to his hand and shoulder a few days before the event.

We wish to thank friends and family who contributed to the cause.

My friends, I am late in visiting…and now I am in tears.
It seems no small wonder that you and Jai were so much on my mind on that day…some time ago, I was training with Team in Training until I had a partial evulsion of my hamstring.
I was never able to do the marathon I had wanted to do, for my brother, who died at age 30 from Non-Hodgkin’s…
    Thank you, Jai, for running.
Thank you, Bee, for being his support.

    Go Jai!
