A carton of eggs

Rank and File
The picture above is a rotated and cropped version of this:

This shot was taken in the evening. I had intended to capture the soft rays of the setting sun. The background is a burgundy wall. I covered an end table with black fabric and kept it next to the window. When I started clicking, there was enough natural light. J needed the camera and tripod to take a picture in another room. (Between us, we have just one tripod and camera). When he was done and I came back to take more pictures, it was dark outside.
After comparing the two sets of shots, I prefer the ones taken in the dark. The lighting is more even.
The shot was exposed for 30 seconds at a regular exposure setting.
Notice the missing egg in the left row? (second last slot) J took that for his picture.

Some fun with Photoshop

Cute tricks with Photoshop
What did you do with the broken egg! Did the incense stick come into picture
the incense stick wielder made an omelet. – b.
I’ve been churning my mind on how to click a pic of eggs….Haven’t come up with anything yet…your pics look great…
The rotating and cropping did wonders huh? Am sure I’ll learn a lot from this event even though I may not be up to contributing to it
looks great bee, great job! I’m still thinking about mine!
Bee & J, this is not directly related to this post, but about eggs anyway – I read your egg substitutes post – I need to make an eggless bread pudding for lunch tomorrow, should I add oil/butter as you’ve suggested in place of the whole egg? That will make it richer but not give it a custardy effect, right? Any ideas?
Like the egg yolk pooling in its shell.
i think egggless bread pudding is very tricky. use can use tofu as the glue. butter will make it like a cake, not like a pudding.

Beautiful work. Lovely, full of expression.
I saw the image and wondered why your eggs are so special that they can do what mine can’t. Maybe cos mine are not organic or free range or are white instead. :hmm:
He! He! Nice way to introduce some perspective. ;;)
very well taken!
I took one this afternoon, haven’t downloaded it yet. Will do so later.
I like all the shots here but am more attracted to the first for lighting and composition.
Just too good!I think you can reward yourself with this amazing pic
lovely pictures just too good
Lovely pics Bee, you are truly a pro!
Wonderful shot!
Bee,
Thanks for stopping by. Such good reactions to my work always overwhelm me. I keep stopping by your blog and love your food pictures. I think I might pick one as an inspiration for another sketch ( with your permission, of course)! Your customisation enhanced the the lighting and the texture of the eggs to another level. Great job!

beautiful… I am not even sure I should participate
Bee, I didn’t have time to get the tofu, so I just soaked the bread in a bath of cream, milk and nutmeg, minus the eggs, and it turned out just fine, consistency and all. It didn’t need an extra binder like egg because the bread was packed into a dish the right size – think I’ll update my post later to reflect that!
I like the evening shot better, too
Beautiful pics of Eggs. Just a question can I potray cooked or curried eggs too?
sure, you can. – b.
