Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers by Robert Greenwald

Why does the war in Iraq go on and on?

One reason is that it is immensely profitable for the Bush family and its friends.

These four minutes from the documentary Iraq for Sale were specifically banned by from being shown during a Congressional hearing by concerted action from Republican politicians.

U.S. soliders cannot do their own laundry. Halliburton is paid 99 dollars by the U.S. government PER LOAD of laundry. Yes, those 99 dollars come from us, the taxpayers. Vice-president Dick Cheney used to be CEO of Halliburton and still holds tens of thousands of shares in the company. What else do we pay for?

Like my Grandma used to say, “War can never be good, never!”. why can’t we be more peaceful…..evolution of humanity was a good thing, but this (war) is a big side effect!

  3. Sandee says:

Politics is war without bloodshed while war is politics with bloodshed.

That was enlightening…I remember in Gone with the Wind how Rhett Butler said there is much money to be made in a war. It never changes…people are dying so that others may live in luxury.

  6. Asha says:

America benefits monetarily to keep the war go on somewhere in the World all the time,it’s all about money baby and Iraq was all about of course because “He tried to kill my Daddy!”;p

    Dear Jai and Bee,

Wow, you started almost a revolution buddy. I am so p……ssd off after watching this. We blame our politicians and bureaucrats in India, but look here in US, I think politics is pretty much same everywhere.Downright dirty. And war in Iraq was never about Osama-bin-Laden or Al-Queida. It was always about oil in the first place.

    Hi Bee n jai,
Farenheit movie revealed a lot of info abt how the US politicians are profiteering from the iraq war.. I used to blame that politicians are making the world worse.. but now, i strongly feel that, what ever happens in the world is the result of all the accumulated grossness of human thoughts and actions over the centuries… I feel the majority of the world thinks that money is the end and keep going for it… When this thought is combined with power, it becomes deadly!!! I pray that we as a world change and seek the real truth behind our existence and balance our existence on this plane…
