“Every friend is to the other a sun, and a sunflower also. He attracts and follows.”

Red Marigolds and Sunflowers

Grasshopper on a Sunflower

Flowers have an expression of countenance as much as men and animals. Some seem to smile; some have a sad expression; some are pensive and diffident; others again are plain, honest and upright, like the broad-faced sunflower and the hollyhock.” – Henry Ward Beecher

Pictures by Jai (Douglas County, Kansas, 1995). Some of these pics look a bit grainy, ‘cos they are scanned non-digital photos. Scanning results in the loss of sharpness and some distortion of colour.

    Beautiful pictures.
I think everyone should make it a point to see a field of sunflowers at least once in their lifetime. I took my husband, who had never seen them, to see these. And I just uploaded these pictures for the two of you.
