A new verb and a quiz

To Bhadang: to indulge in guilt-free crunchy munchies on a Sunday.
Manisha showed us how. We replaced the peanuts with sunflower seeds, and the sugar with dried cranberries. The puffed rice is generic, unsweetened, brown rice cereal. More about it here.

What’s in this drink? There are three ingredients.
One is carrots. Guess the other two. If you guess both right, the drink will be named after you.
Answer next Sunday.

ANSWER: Carrot, Pear and Ginger
Carrot Mocktail
(serves 2)
Juice 10 medium carrots, 1 pear (or apple) and a 1-inch piece of ginger.
Don’t forget to brush your teeth immediately after, unless you want to flash an orange smile.

Bhadang
i had it y’day at my friends place.
Oh, the drink…..carrots is the only ingredient that i can guess
…..how i wish one could take a sip through the web
Wow! Look at that healthy version of bhadang! Bhadang is a little like Musical’s gonglu. You want to keep saying it. At least I do!
Hmm! I don’t know about the drink but that glass sure is maha-sexy. Give us some clues – in-season or frozen. How about pomegranate? Does sparkling water count as an ingredient?
Musical, you’d come over yesterday?
Club soda and orange juice?
ok, clue. not frozen. farm fresh ingredients.
That glass looks so cool! I find the glass more appealing than the juice
Watermelon and Orange (or Tomato).
Tomato + ginger (since I’m on a ginger high these days…made candied ginger, then two kinds of Ginger ale…)
And, yes, that glass sure makes the drink!
Hmm….. How about papaya????
hmm..carrot, , some sweetener ..u guys are too health conscious to add sugar …so maybe a little soya milk ..
my final guess: carrot , orange, soya milk..
There is a fizz I see so my guess would be soda+ginger. That long~~~ stemmed is cool.
Radish and rhubarb?
First one we call masala puri or Churmuri(Puri is rice crispies in Kannada), a common we make it in a hurry:)
I love the Champagne flute.Carrots,Orange juice and Soda fizz!
I love these guessing games on food blogs though here I can see only Carrots. Hmm…other 2 farm fresh ingredients would be watermelon, strawberry or may be papaya.
How about tomatoes and pumpkin or may be oranges ?
Great pictures and illustrations…bee..thanx a million for the PROMPT comments in my blog.As you said,a comment is worth for a 100 following posts!!!You have an amazing site..well done…keep it up and Enjoy Food Blogging..
Hmmm, what is guilt? I’d been snacking on Cheetos and have yet to feel the guilt, heh heh
Grrr, I must’ve pressed the wrong button! I also meant to add my guess – carrot, orange and PUMPKIN?!?
Hi bee,
must be tomato+ orange
woh!! amazing juice!! trying really hard to guess Bee
Let me say lemonade and orange juice
are we allowed more than one combination to guess?
could the other two be )orange + green grape, orange + thyme or pineapple + kiwi?
Farm fresh, people! Think what is in season where these folks probably live…only thing I came up with is rhubarb (yuk) and radish. Apart from greens. So maybe leek? This is rapidly turning into eek.
it’s not necessarily in season, manisha. we get it in the produce section of the local co-op. – b.
Bee, thankyou for leaving a comment. Its encouraging. I like your blog a lot and I think the presentation is impeccable. Perfect is more apt. Your site surely gets one visit daily from me. Great going.
Waiting till next Sunday, it seems!! Hmmph !!!
Anyway here is my guess: Carrots + Mango + Persimmon (what am I thinking?)
Not in season, yet farm fresh and local? I am confused.
let me clarify. from the produce section. don’t know if it is seasonal. we bought it from the local co-op, but don’t know if it is grown locally. they’re pretty common ingredients, found everywhere.
Carrot, Tomato and Passionfruit ?? Maybe orange/papaya/strawberry/ watermelon/ginger/lemon….. well atleast one of these will be right!!
I think it is watermelon and pomegranate…
Ooooohhh, the flute is so cute!
now… lemme guess…. ummm, orange and….. and… (grrr… this is difficult)plum…. watermelon…
Carrots, ginger and pineapple…??
Whatever it is, looks healthy.
i say strawberry and apple.
